Week of 3/24-3/30

Welcome to the Local Sports recap, which was brought to you by Carson Olson.

Girls Soccer lost a tough one in their conference opener to Alleman 4-0. They bounced back later in the week beating E. Peoria 8-0. The Girls are back in action Tuesday night at home vs Sterling at 6.

Varsity Baseball had a good last week. Against Metamora Streaks trailed 4-3 after the 4th inning, but after a 5 run 5th the Streaks took back the lead. Streaks vs McHenry was tough giving up 3 in the First and they held the lead from there. Ending the week with a win versus PORTAACC, beating them 10-0 in 5 innings. Streaks are now 3-5 following a 8-3 loss to Sterling Monday Night. They return to the Diamond Tuesday night at Washington. 

The Sophomore team opened their season with 3 losses to Peoria ND (DH) and Metamora. 

The Freshman team opened their season with a 8-6 win over Dunlap.

Softball lost to Limestone 0-13, West Central 0-17, and a Doubleheader to Mahomet Seymour 0-15, 0-13.  

Saturday's Track meet was the Prep Top Times.  This is the equivalent to Indoor State.  Our 4x400 Girls Relay team of Lily Furrow( Jr.), Taylor Herchenroder (So.) Ella Herchenroder (So.) and Grace Herchenroder (So.) won the race.  The 4x200 Girls Relay of Ava Marty(Fr.), Khloe May (Jr.), T. Herchenroder, and E. Herchenroder took 8th.  Gilbert Lemus (Sr.) took 3rd in the Shot Put.  Both Boys and Girls teams move to Outdoor season now.

Boys Tennis had a good showing at Morton taking 3rd in the Doubles.

All these teams are in action this week.
