Week of 4/21-4/26

To those interested, for my CEO Program, I will be having a Trade Show on May 1st, showing off all these things I have been working on at Sandburg from 4:30-6 along with my classmates. We would love to see you there!

With that being said, here is your weekly recap.

Softball:  Softball dropped conference games to Rock Island (6-0) and UTHS (20-0).  They also lost non-conference games to IVC (10-0) and Macomb (20-4)

Baseball:  Split with Alleman last week, losing 9-5 on Monday and winning 12-1 on Wednesday.  They also took a 2+ hour trip north and beat a good Burlington Central team 7-1.

Boys Track: The Boys' Track team traveled to Metamora High School for their invite and finished 4th overall out of 11 teams. The Boys took third in the 4x800 (B) Relay, 1st in the 4x100 (B) relay, Riley Gross (Fr.) took 3rd in the 110m (C) Hurdles, Demetrius Watson took 3rd in the 110m (B) Hurdles, Evan Dombrowski (Sr.) took 3rd in the 100m (C), Praise Nwagbo (Jr.) took 1st in the 400m (C), Watson took 3rd in the 300m (B) Hurdles, Galesburg took 1st in the 4x400 (B) Relay, and 2nd in the 4x400 (A) Relay. In the field events, Gilberto Lemus (Sr.) took 1st in the (A) Shot Put, Cale Johnson (So.) took 2nd in the (B) Discuss, and Josiah Carter (Sr.) T-2 in the (A) High Jump, Mikel Rucker (Jr.) took 2nd in the (B) High Jump, Kenny Ward (Sr.) took 3rd in the (C) High Jump, Carter took 1st in the (A) Triple Jump, Derrick Curtis (So.) took 1st in the (B) Triple Jump, and Shawn Taylor (Jr.) took 1st in the (C) Triple Jump. Great Job, Guys!

Girls Track:  Girls Track traveled to Geneseo High School for their invite, finishing 3rd out of 8 teams. Ava Marty (Fr.) took 1st in the 100m as well as the 200m, Izzy Kennedy (Fr.) took 3rd in the 800m, Lily Furrow (Jr.) took 2nd in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles, along with Grace Herchenroder (So.) taking 3rd in the same event. Galesburg took 2nd in the 4x100m relay, 1st in the 4x200 relay, and 1st in the 4x400 relay. Herchenroder took 3rd in the High Jump, Marty took 3rd in the Long Jump, and Lily Furrow took 1st in the Triple Jump. Congratulations Girls.

Girls' Soccer has not played in the last 6 days.

Boys Tennis:  Took 4th at our home invite this past Saturday.  Mohemed Shehata took 2nd in #2 Singles.
